PILLAR 03 · PRODUCT-DEVELOPMENT RETAINER

High-Performance
Digital Engineering

Most agencies still ship slow, monolithic CMS sites with a marketing illustration on top. We sunset them. We build Astro, Node, and Python front-ends that load before the user finishes typing, PWAs that capture zero-party data on first visit, and glassmorphic UI where it earns its weight against Lighthouse scores. The site is the acquisition engine.

WHAT BREAKS IN YOUR VERTICAL

How front-end performance fails healthcare and energy buyers.

In both verticals, your buyers are technical, time-poor, and mobile. The legacy WordPress / Drupal / monolithic CMS stack costs you the meeting before it starts.

WE SHIP

Product-grade surfaces, not marketing illustrations.

ARTIFACT 01

Astro / Node / Python front-end

Islands architecture, server-rendered, edge-cached. Lighthouse 95+ on mobile is the floor, not the goal.

ARTIFACT 02

Progressive Web App layer

Installable, offline-capable, push-notification-ready. Captures zero-party data on first visit. Survives the user's network.

ARTIFACT 03

Glassmorphic UI + Lottie motion

Used where it earns its weight - nav, cards, modals, hero proof. Skipped everywhere else. Never at the cost of Lighthouse.

ARTIFACT 04

CMS your marketers can actually edit

CloudCannon / Sanity / Decap visual-editing wired into every content block. The marketing team ships without filing tickets.

ENGAGEMENT SHAPE

Typical six-week rebuild.

WEEKS 1–2

Architecture sprint

Audit the current stack, define the performance budget, plan the migration. Wireframes only; no design work yet.

WEEKS 3–4

Build sprint

Astro scaffold, design system, primary templates, CMS hookup, CI/CD. The marketing-editable surface goes live in staging.

WEEKS 5–6

Migration + launch

Content migration, redirects, performance pass, accessibility audit, launch. Lighthouse mobile 95+ as launch gate.

WEEK 7+

Ongoing retainer

Optional product-development retainer - feature work, A/B test instrumentation, perf monitoring. Or full handoff and we exit.

Our prior CMS scored 31 on Lighthouse mobile. Reblend rebuilt the front-end on Astro in six weeks and we launched at 97. Mobile organic sessions are 2.4x what they were last quarter.

A fast front-end is only useful if you can measure what it's catching.

Most engineering engagements lead into the other two pillars - Predictive Pipeline instruments what the front-end captures, Bespoke AI Workflows turn the captured data into operator-callable workflows.

Scope an Engineering sprint.

Typical first sprint - two weeks, fixed fee, ends with a performance audit and a migration plan. You own the audit and the wireframes regardless of next steps.
